Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge 19

Hi There 

I am back today with another sketch challenge from Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge Blog. My card is from a set for Christmas. I am really getting into the holiday spirit now and making lots of goodies.  It's getting pretty cold around here, so it's the perfect excuse to get lot's of crafting done!!

I don't have any new Christmas papers, so I decided to stamp on some papers that I had in my craft supply.

Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge 15

Hi There!!

 

I Hope you are having a great day! This is my first post for today. There were a couple of challenges which I wanted to enter and time is running out. This post is for a sketch challenge at Waltzing Mouse Sketch Blog

Just purchase a lovely set called Tiny Trees by Waltzing Mouse Stamps, but I didn't get it in time for this project. I am sure it will show an appearance next week!!

I love patterned paper, but my problem is that I love to hold onto it!! I used some paper by October Afternoon. I think it's from the Thrift shop collection. I love the lace effect on the bottom paper.

2 Sketches 4 You 46

Hi There

I feel like it is ages since I blogged! I have been so busy I don't know where the time goes. I recently received loads of new goodies from Papertrey Ink, so today I will be using some in my card.  I especially like the Cardstock it is really thick and great for making you own card bases.

I used Cardstock, Ribbon, Paper, Buttons, Ink and Stamps from Papertrey Ink. I used the Pure Poppy Cardstock for the base, it is really difficult to get red cardstock in the UK. I also had a go at colouring in the flower image today.

Card Scraps

Hi There

It's not long until the weekend and this is a special day for me. My husband Kris has been working away in London the capital of the UK for over 2 Years and today he is coming home for good! I am so excited I am fit to burst! 

Today's card is on the theme of Scraps. This was inspired by a post by Nicole Heady earlier in the week. I decided that I would use the Scraps from my cards this week to make a card. I always save my scraps but never seem to use them.

I used this sketch from the ladies at 2 Sketches 4 You. Happy New Year to you!

 

 

I used the Scraps from the cards, I made in my two previous posts. Both cards included the colour Yellow, so they seemed to combine well. The papers are by basic Grey and called Pantry Nook, I used the 6 X 6 size. I made a butterfly bow using some old scraps of ribbon and a button. 

 

 

I am loving all the yellow around at the minute, reminds me of the summer. Its still really snowy around here and more snow forecast today!

Berry Merry

Hi There 

I hope you all had a fantastic christmas. Happy new year!! We had a very good celebration. This year is the first year we have spent with our children as new year is normally an adult affair for us. However our new year friends have gone on a holiday this year with there whole family. Who can blame them really, I would love a bit of sun! So friday morning I woke up to a lounge full of party popper left overs, which I am still finding now, I am sure I will be finding them for months.

 

 

I decided to go for something which is the total opposite to Christmas with this card. I had this gorgeous paper from Basic Grey called "Pantry Nook" which I brought a while ago. This is the first chance I have had to dig it out. The colours are just so bright that they reminded me of summer fruits hence the berries.

I used a Sketch from Carrdvarks. This was such a great sketch to work with and nice for me after a two week break!!

 

As I look out of the window I can't believe there is still snow on the ground. It has snowed twice over the last three weeks. It was offically a white christmas in the UK!!

Kindred Spirits

Hi There

I remember when I first looked at this picture of the T- shirt, I instantly saw the flowers. They reminded me of the flowers in the Garden of Life PTI set.

I loved the post about Nicole's visit and the great friendship which has evolved. I couldn't resist adding a little quote from Ann of Green gables. My mum and I spent many a Sunday watching this on video's. 

 

I used this sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You. This is Kazan's Sketch!!

I love Lavender, however it would not be my first choice of colour to use in a card. So that's why this challenge has been good for me and made me get out of my comfort zone. My first thought was to attach the flowers to the flourish. But then I came across this fantastic paper by making memories Called Funky Vintage.

Life has thrown another tough week at me. My Little Max was admitted to hospital on Monday Night with breathing problems. Last night I came home with my Daughter, it's tough trying to do the right thing. But I felt that she needed me last night and my mum stayed with Max and he's fine.

When Gabrielle went to bed, I managed to fit in a little me time. I had started to make card pieces on Monday and thought it would be a real shame not to finish it. I find a card is great for taking your mind off things!!

Merry and Bright

Hi There!!

I was determine to fit in a card for 2 Sketches 4 you Challenge today. I know it's right near the end, but I love to join in on the challenge.  

 

I was a bit stuck on what to do for the background on the top of the card. I just received my PTI Stamps for October release. I was trying to resist buying, but I gave in and they take two weeks to arrive in UK. I used the holiday tree set to make a background and then sponged it with Tim Holtz distress Ink Antique Linen.

Our trip to Wales was cancelled due to Kris's car break down. It was quickly fixed, but we didn't want to risk the long drive. I think I'll just crack on with some christmas cards!!

Christmas with a difference

Hi Everyone!!

This is my first attempt at a Christmas Card and it hasn't ended up quiet as planned. However I do like the final result. it has a bit of an eastern feel. 

I have used some of my new Christmas Stamps from Basic Grey and mixed them with a Hero Arts background stamps.  I wanted to use some red, but I didn't have the right red in card. So I opted for red ink instead.

Just received a letter to say that my Gypsy is waiting at the post office, Can't wait to pick it up. A little bit of a tax bill to pay, but its worth it. Unfortunately I haven't received my expression yet, but I'm sure i'll have fun anyway. Already received a few cartridges, so I can start planning my own christmas cards. 

Its also my little Gabrielle's birthday next week and we will be off on another trip to Wales to see my mother in law. We feel so lucky as they live by the sea and every time we go there it is like a little holiday for us. Gabrielle will be enjoying some horse riding lessons for her birthday. I am hoping that she has grown up just enough to enjoy it more. As last year she seemed to like the thought of riding the horse more that the actual riding.

Sisters

Hi There!!

Its been an emotional few days in so many ways!! This is a card I made for my aunt. It was her birthday yesterday and my mum wanted to give her a special card. I think that she enjoyed our visit, although she is no longer able to tell us. I knew just by the look into her eyes.  I am so thankful for the times we shared before her illness and hope see can see how much we care for her.

My mum and my aunts spent many a day sitting talking around the kitchen table. I take great joy from these memories.

I do have some good news!! My son Max has received his walking frame and is now whizzing up and down the lounge. When we collected the frame from the hospital Max gave his physio a fright as he ran off down the corridor. It is very dangerous and he needs to be supported when using the frame. I am hoping that it will help him to gain strength in his legs. 

I'm Looking forward to this weekend. We are attending the annual Teddy bear's Picnic arranged by the Neonatal Unit where Max stayed for 4 months after his birth. It a chance for us to meet up with other babies and staff on the unit. Gabrielle has chosen a teddy for Max to take with him.

Three in One

Hi There!!

Today's Card is a three in one. We are invited to a friends party next Saturday for a Halloween and Bonfire Night party. I can't wait to dress up and see all the amazing fireworks. I haven't got any costumes, must put that on my to do list.
