Card Scraps

Hi There

It's not long until the weekend and this is a special day for me. My husband Kris has been working away in London the capital of the UK for over 2 Years and today he is coming home for good! I am so excited I am fit to burst! 

Today's card is on the theme of Scraps. This was inspired by a post by Nicole Heady earlier in the week. I decided that I would use the Scraps from my cards this week to make a card. I always save my scraps but never seem to use them.

I used this sketch from the ladies at 2 Sketches 4 You. Happy New Year to you!

 

 

I used the Scraps from the cards, I made in my two previous posts. Both cards included the colour Yellow, so they seemed to combine well. The papers are by basic Grey and called Pantry Nook, I used the 6 X 6 size. I made a butterfly bow using some old scraps of ribbon and a button. 

 

 

I am loving all the yellow around at the minute, reminds me of the summer. Its still really snowy around here and more snow forecast today!

Raspberry Suite Colour Challenge #21

Hi There

Hope everybody is enjoying their day so far! I have now officially not left the house for a whole week, can you believe it! My daughters school is closed and the roads are like ice rinks around here. Last night I was watching the news and they are calling it the "BIG FREEZE" There has not been weather here like this for decades. It is normal to have maybe 2 or 3 days of snow a year! Lets just hope this passes really soon.

Back to to today's card. It's for the Raspberry Suite Colour Challenge #21

 

The colours are yummy! Brown is always a winner with me. I have noticed lots of stripes around recently in cards and fashion, so last night I thought it would be fun to have a go. I used the text style 2 set from Papertrey Ink and stamped that on various papers to make stripes. As it's valentines day soon, I decided to try a card for my Husband Kris. I don't know about you, but I find it really tough to make cards for men. So I'm pleased this colour combi came along to help out with some inspiration. 

 
 
 

I use a lot of die cuts for framing usually, so with this card I just cut out a plain strip and then added some lines with markers to edge.

Berry Merry

Hi There 

I hope you all had a fantastic christmas. Happy new year!! We had a very good celebration. This year is the first year we have spent with our children as new year is normally an adult affair for us. However our new year friends have gone on a holiday this year with there whole family. Who can blame them really, I would love a bit of sun! So friday morning I woke up to a lounge full of party popper left overs, which I am still finding now, I am sure I will be finding them for months.

 

 

I decided to go for something which is the total opposite to Christmas with this card. I had this gorgeous paper from Basic Grey called "Pantry Nook" which I brought a while ago. This is the first chance I have had to dig it out. The colours are just so bright that they reminded me of summer fruits hence the berries.

I used a Sketch from Carrdvarks. This was such a great sketch to work with and nice for me after a two week break!!

 

As I look out of the window I can't believe there is still snow on the ground. It has snowed twice over the last three weeks. It was offically a white christmas in the UK!!
